Solar Thermal Courses

North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) has just announced Solar Thermal Courses at Artha Sustainable Living Center are now eligible for continuing education and recertification for its solar thermal certificants.

Walk our new Labyrinth

Labyrinths are used to achieve a contemplative state. Walking the circular paths, one loses track of time and of the outside world, quieting the mind and finding peace.
As you walk the labyrinth become aware of your breath and feel the earth beneath your feet. As you move toward the center of the circle release and let go of the concerns of the day. When your reach the center open your heart. As you walk away from the center feel the energy of nature all around you and a new found serenity.

Restorative Yoga Workshop
November 17th, 2007 Sat: 1-4pm
Relax and renew in a meditative supported practice designed to reduce your stress and improve your health. Postures will be supported by blankets, blocks or other props and are held for several minutes at a time. Linger quietly in these soothing and well-supported poses putting your mind and body at ease. $35

Partner Yoga

Giving two people a chance to benefit from the support and energy of each other. Partners rely on each other to keep correct body alignment, balance and concentration fostering a deeper sense well-being. $35

Solar Water and Space Heating
December 1st, 2007 Sat: 8am-4pm
Learn how you can use the clean free energy of the sun to heat your domestic water and contribute to space heating needs. This intro course will give basic system types, applications and economics. $145

Installing a Solar Water Heating System
December 2nd-4th, 2007 Sun-Tues 8am-4pm
Intro Solar Thermal Class required from Artha, MREA or equivalent. This class will take attendees through the steps necessary for the installation of a solar thermal system. Students will all have hands on time putting up a collector on a demonstration roof, soldering pipe and becoming familiar with different system components. This class is appropriate for HVAC/Plumbers looking to offer Solar, individuals wanting to get into the solar business, or homeowners wanting to install their own system. $420

December 8th, 2007 Sat: 1-4pm
