January 2008

Breathing Basics Yoga Workshop Registration Form  $35          
January 27th, 2008 Sun: 9-12am             
Learn the basics of prananyama which helps release tension and promote the free flow of subtle energies (prana). You will be introduced to several new breathing techniques and patterns for better health, sleeping issues, and stress relief. Learn the art of breath control along with meditation and yoga poses.

Alignment in Yoga Poses Workshop Registration Form  $35          
January 27th, 2008 Sun: 1-4pm             
The heart of yoga is in alignment. This workshops focuses on the best alignment for each of the yoga poses. Focus will be on techniques that can be used to bring each pose into perfect placement for each individual practictioner. Finding union and awareness in the body is the key to finding proper alignment in the yoga poses.  When practicing with awareness we begin to know with clear understanding where and how our body is placed on the earth. This allows us to begin to fine tune our yoga postures, increase strength flexibility and move with grace.  Awareness helps to reduce wear on the joints, muscle strain and tightness. Beginners to advanced practitioners will benefit from this seminar.

Meditation and Yoga Retreat  Registration Form $280 see registration form for more pricing options.
Febuary 8 - 10th, 2008 - Friday arrival 6:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 4pm 
Sessions of guided meditation will be interspersed with nature walks, workshops on living in harmony, breathing techniques and restorative and vinyasa flow yoga. You will receive handouts on meditation techniques, yogic breathing techniques and yoga posture flows.  Stay on site and experience the full inner centering of this renewable energy oasis.   We are located in the beautiful country of central Wisconsin. Two night’s stay is included in the fee as well as breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings a catered lunch both days and a catered dinner on Saturday.  Participants will enjoy free time to explore trails in the wooded hills and open fields. Bring cross country skis and/or snow shoes.

Restorative Yoga Workshop Registration Form    $35
March 1st, 2008   Sat: 9-12am
Relax and renew in a meditative supported practice designed to reduce your stress and improve your health.  Postures will be supported by blankets, blocks or other props and are held for several minutes at a time. Linger quietly in these soothing and well-supported poses putting your mind and body at ease.

Partner Yoga Registration Form    $35
March 1st, 2008  Sat: 1-4pm
Giving two people a chance to benefit from the support and energy of each other.  Partners rely on each other to keep correct body alignment, balance and concentration fostering a deeper sense well-being.

Allowing for time to find a greater understanding of each pose. Learn how to find the strength and proper alignment to gracefully hold the poses. Do this while honoring your individual abilities, learning to work within your own unique framework.

In this world of sitting at a desk and driving to work our upper bodies have become weak. Establish a yoga practice to gain strength in your arms, back and chest. Open these areas and have a greater range of motion, setting up a heathly pattern in the body that will stay with you for the rest of your life. Poses will be catered to individuals ability, become empowered with new found strength.

Hip Openers & Balancing Poses Registration Form 
$35 single workshop, $30 if taking another workshop the same day
         
June 1st, 2008 Sun: 1-4pm             
Exercises like weight lifting and running tend to shorten our leg and hip muscles. Learn movements designed to open and free the hips, release and lenghten the leg muscles. This will allow for a greater range of motion in twists, forward bends and balancing poses. As we move through our lives, the more we cultivate spatial awareness of just where our body is on this earth, the better our balance will be. Balance takes practice, learn techniques to find physical and mental centering and alignment through the balancing poses.

Experience the extension and release of twists and forward bends. Open your body to greater freedom as you move into new poses. Find your spinal range of motion and give some time and attention to your back!

Workshop Policies

Registration and Cancellation Policies for Artha Workshops and Retreats

Registration:
Workshops and Retreats are open to all individuals on a first come first serve basis.  Class size is limited and individuals can register for workshops and retreats by filling out an online or printed registration form or calling 715-824-3463. 

Payment:
A non-refundable $65 deposit is due at the time of registration.  One month prior to the workshop/retreat the remainder of the fees are due.  We take Credit Cards or Checks, please make checks payable to Artha Sustainable Living Center LLC and send to 9784 County Road K, Amherst, WI 54406.

Cancellation:
If cancellation is made prior to one month before the workshop/retreat attendee will forfeit the $65 deposit and any additional fees paid will be reimbursed.  If cancellation is less then one month prior to the workshop/retreat date 50% of the workshop/retreat fee will be reimbursed (unless that amount is less then $65).  If cancellation is less then two weeks prior to the workshop/retreat date there will be no reimbursement.
