Solar Water Heating Installation Lab for Professionals: This course is open to Plumbing and HVAC professionals only.
This class will provide plumbing and HVAC professionals with the educational and hands-on experience to familiarize them with the components and techniques needed to install a solar water heating system.
The class will be half lecture and half hands-on format. During the course, students will build a functioning drain-back water heating system that will incorporate a plate type heat exchanger and differential controller. The class will also build a functioning pressurized hot water system that will incorporate a PV powered pump and a storage tank with integral heat exchanger.
Successful completion of this course will satisfy the educational component required to get on the Focus on Energy Full Service Installer List.

Business Skills Scholarships: These scholarships will pay 50% of the up to $300. To be eligible you must be either a renewable energy professional (owner or employee of a business that offers renewable energy equipment or sales) or the owner or employee of a business that is considering the incorporation of renewable energy technologies into its operation. The business you own or represent must be located in the service territory of a utility participating in the Focus on Energy program. Business Skills Scholarships are limited, and available on a first come, first served basis.

Course Materials/Prerequisites:
Prerequisites: Plumbing or HVAC professional.
Materials Required: Purchase course manual, notepad, pen or pencil, calculator , work clothes, work boots, safety glasses, hearing protection. Lunch is provided at the workshop.

Workshop Policies

Registration and Cancellation Policies for Artha Workshops and Retreats

Registration:
Workshops and Retreats are open to all individuals on a first come first serve basis.  Class size is limited and individuals can register for workshops and retreats by filling out an online or printed registration form or calling 715-824-3463. 

Payment:
A non-refundable $65 deposit is due at the time of registration.  One month prior to the workshop/retreat the remainder of the fees are due.  We take Credit Cards or Checks, please make checks payable to Artha Sustainable Living Center LLC and send to 9784 County Road K, Amherst, WI 54406.

Cancellation:
If cancellation is made prior to one month before the workshop/retreat attendee will forfeit the $65 deposit and any additional fees paid will be reimbursed.  If cancellation is less then one month prior to the workshop/retreat date 50% of the workshop/retreat fee will be reimbursed (unless that amount is less then $65).  If cancellation is less then two weeks prior to the workshop/retreat date there will be no reimbursement.
